Drew had an appointment today at the orthopedic center~ to get his cast taken off (from this injury), x-rays and physical therapy. I was so nervous that he was going to be in pain- but everything went so well. He was more stiff than anything- and the PT didn't push him too hard today.
One last look of the big, green cast~
The cast coming off~
The impressive x-rays~
They made Drew a new brace. This was pretty cool- this is a brand new kind of brace that is heated in a special machine and then form fitted to his arm. (This is much sturdier than it looks!!!)
Drew wanted to go back to school after his appointment- which was definitely a good sign (even though it was because he had a couple of after school activities and didn't want to miss them ;o)
This evening Drew had his season opener for baseball. Unfortunately, he still cannot play for probably another 2-4 more weeks... but we are making progress and for that I am so thankful!!!!
Drew spent his 'season opener' in the dugout eating seeds~
But I am wondering~ if he spent his time in the dugout...how did he end up with one of these~
It is a mystery that I don't think I will ever know the answer to ;o)

Kath-
Thanks for keeping us updated. Believe or not Jonathan had his cast come off today too! Drew looks like he is doing great. It must be all the love from you. Give him a big hug from us.

Cool looking brace! It goes nicely with that wonderful smile:) Love, Gramma and Grampa
I'm almost afraid to say this, but in the 19 years with my kids, we've yet to have a single cast!!! I myself have never even had one.
{{KNOCKING ON WOOD}} - can you hear it?
Glad he'd doing good and almost back to normal!
