Jake & New Goaile Pads- Part 2

Pete sent me this email and picture: saying this was Jake when Pete got home from work.

I guess it's safe to say that Jake is still excited about the new pads :0) I love the look: shorts, goalie pads, skates (on my leather sofa!!!), and a heating pad on his neck (needed because of a phy-ed injury :0)

Our Trip to Fargo

Drew and I left about 9:30 this morning for Fargo, ND for a hockey tournament. Well- you would know, because of my luck (or lack of it:0) that we would have a huge snowstorm that we would have to drive the entire way thru!!!! It took us about 5 1/2 hours for a 4 hour drive- but we made it here safe and sound.

Here is Drew relaxing....

And this is what I had to drive thru!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Goalie Pads

We ordered Jake some new goalie pads and they were due to deliver yesterday from UPS. When Jake got home from school yesterday- he burst through the door and wanted to know if his pads had come yet. I told him 'not yet, but anytime now...' Jake went downstairs to watch some TV- and came up every 5 minutes to see if they were here yet. Finally- they came!!! He tried them on right away- he looks pretty happy here!

Dog Lessons for People

Here is a picture of Drew and his "lap dog" Bella.

I found this saying on a card and just fell in love with it.

Dog Lessons For People:
Enjoy the simple pleasures of a walk.
Follow your instincts.
Never underestimate the value of a belly rub.
Be loyal and faithful.
Be quick to forgive.
Always drink plenty of water.
Sometimes it is best to just sit close and listen.
Be quick to forgive.
Avoid biting when a growl will do.
Keep digging until you find what you want.
Run and play daily.
Accept all of life’s treats with gratitude.
Life is short; eat often.
Love unconditionally.

It's a WIN!

Jake had his first district playoff game today. They played Farmington whom they lost to twice already this year. This was a must win for Jake's team... or they would be done for the season :0( But- Jake's team came to play and won the game 6-0!!!! And it was so nice that Grandma & Grandpa could make it to the game!!

Tyler's last hockey game --this year

Tyler played his last game of the season today. It was such a great game!! They were down 0-1 after the first period- his whole team was not playing well. But they came back fired up in the 2nd period and were able to hold Bloomington Jefferson- the score was still 0-1. Finally, Tyler's line scored in the third period-- they tied it up 1-1. With 38 seconds left of the game Tyler's line scores again with Ty getting an assist! They win!!! Tyler said that this was his favorite season of any sport he has played it- by far. He said he will always remember this season. What more can you ask for?

My night...last night

This is a text I sent Pete last night....

"Boy that was a stressful hour!!!! Drew was packing his hockey bag for his game... First- no neck guard AND no mouthguard... So we stop at LA- we get a mouthguard and get his skates sharpened but no youth neckguard -he tried on the adult one, but did NOT like that one.

So we stopped at Varsity on the way to rink -but they were closed. So I dropped him off at the rink and went back to LA and bought the adult size neck guard. I text Drew that I'm on way back to the rink with a neckguard- he texts back and says he borrowed one (ARGH!!!) BUT he forgot his jerseys (ARGH!!!) So I turn back around to go home to get jerseys! And on my way back to the rink... I run over a skunk!!!!!!!!!!!"

My Little Skiier...

Drew had a school field trip yesterday and Pete went with him to the ski hill.

He looks a little nervous in this picture:0)...He is about to go down "The French Cliff"- which is a black diamond.

They both came home happy and tired--and had a great time!!

Fireproof

Pete and I rented this movie last weekend. I had heard so much about it and really wanted to see it when it was in the theatres---but that doesn't seem to happen too much:0). Anyway, it was an amazing movie and really made you think about marriage and "never leaving your partner behind." Here is a link to a music trailer from the movie.
