Pizza Farm

Last night, Pete and I packed our picnic basket and headed to Stockholm, Wisconsin. I have been wanting to go to this WI Farm Pizza night for a few years now, and it was on this summer's bucket list.

A to Z Pizza Farm is open only on Tuesday's from 4:30 to 8pm and are located across from Lake Pepin, which is a beautiful drive!  This is an organic farm and they grow all the ingredients for the pizzas right on their on the farm.

You find a spot and put up your best picnic ware. You see everything from blankets on the ground to elaborate tables with table cloths and flowers. We were somewhere in the middle with a picnic blanket, lawn chairs, and china dishes. :)

Once we had our spot set up, we headed over to order our pizza and drinks.

They have a set pizza menu and there are no substitutions- this is what keeps the lines moving. :)

After ordering, they give you a number and give you a time to check back for your pizza. We were lucky we got there on the earlier side and our wait was only about 20 minutes (we have heard that the wait can be up to 2 hours long... which would be ok too, because the peacefulness and the scenery are amazing!)

'a little of this and that' kind of week

Monday we headed down to Rochester to meet up with Pete's Aunt and Uncle who were passing thru town from Florida. Dewey, Pete, Drew, me, Marilyn and Pete's Dad had a nice dinner at Michaels Restaurant.

My Aunt was also in town visiting from Wyomong and I met up with her and my Mom on Tuesday morning for some raspeberry picking.

Wednesday evening we had everyone over to our house for a BBQ dinner and some killer games of Scrabble. I never got any pictures but it was a fun night!

Thursday, the ladies met up for a night of dinner and a play at the Guthrie. We walked across the Stone Arch Bridge to get to the Wild Roast, and had a great dinner.

Back at the Guthrie we saw Pride and Prejudice, which was very well done!

Friday morning, we met up at Lake Harriet in Minneapolis for a walk around the lake. Our first stop was the Rose Garden which is always so pretty.

This next picture made me laugh as we were trying to shuffle cameras and with fingers over the lens. :)

The rain came in so we didn't make it much farther around the lake and we decided that an inside spot for lunch might be good. :) We headed a couple blocks away to Pizzeria Lola- one of my favorite pizza spots.

It was a fun week, with a little bit of this and that. :)

Chicago family reunion

This past weekend, Pete, Drew and I loaded up the car and headed to Chicago for the Barry 35th Annual Family Reunion. We arrived Friday evening, and met up with a bunch of family that were all staying in the same hotel. There was a lot of visiting, some swimming by the little kids and then there was a run to Gene's and Jude's... our favorite hot dog spot! We took orders and Pete, my Dad, my Uncle and Drew headed out to place that order.

Friday also happened to be my niece Sophia's 14th birthday and we celebrated with cupcakes and our special birthday song. :)

Saturday afternoon was the 35th annual Barry Reunion. It was a beautiful day, it was a much smaller group than usual, but it was enjoyed by all!

Sunday, we headed back home but took a different way than usual and headed through Waseca, WI. Pete and I noticed that there happedned to be a Rocky Rococo's..... we used to have some of these in the Twin Cities, and one used to be a high school hang out for me and my friends. I haven't had this pizza since then, so I really wanted to stop and see if it was as good as I remembered.
