Jamaica

Coming into port early in the morning~ Ocho Rios, Jamaica

We had an excursion planned for the day~ the Chukka Cove Canopy tour. We left the ship to get in a van to take us through 'the lush jungle in the heart of the spectacular Cranbrook Flower Forest for our zip lining adventure.'

Our driver was very entertaining with lots of jokes and facts about Jamaica. He told us that Jamaicans say 'that there are no problems- just situations'. We really loved this saying!!!

After a very scary van ride up a very narrow, bumpy and twisty dirt road (with a cliff on one side) we arrived at the beginning of our adventure.

After a short mile hike down a rough, rocky trail we arrived at the first traverse~

Jake wanted to be the first one in our family to go down~

We ended by some beautiful rapids and had some refreshments.

We then hiked another mile down a beautiful plush jungle trail back to our van.

At the end, the boys stopped at a 'Jerk Hut' for some Jerk Chicken to share. We all had so much fun and all agreed that the van ride was scarier than the zip lining adventure was:0)

We got back in the van to go back to the port area. We had a couple of hours before we had to be back on the ship so we did some souvenir shopping~ Jake had to have a Jamaican hat :0)

Then we stopped to get some lunch at 'Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville.'

This was a fun restaurant that had a pool with a water slide right in the middle of the outside patio area~

and overlooked the ocean!

While we were eating a man made palm leaf birds for the boys.

In the evening, we went out to one of the pool areas that plays 'Movies Under the Stars.' They were playing the NCAA basketball championship game.

A fun and exciting day!!
