weekend lens :: summer weekends

I love summer weekends! There just seems to be so many things to do and so many great chances to get outside and breathe in some fresh air.

This weekend Drew had a baseball tournament.

We grilled some burgers and topped them with some awesome guacamole, a big slice of tomato all on King Hawaiian sandwich buns. Amazing!!! {Guac recipe can be found here - it is so easy and so good!}

It was the perfect weekend for a backyard bonfire.

We also stopped at a bookstore to purchase a guide book and a map for Italy! We bought our plane tickets last weekend and now the fun begins of planning our trip!! I am so excited!!

We went for a walk around Lake of the Isles. I haven't been around this lake since my high school cross-country days, but this may be my favorite lake now. It is so different than Calhoun or Harriet, much more park-like and very peaceful.

After our walk we stopped at Isle Bun & Coffee for an iced coffee and a little treat. This is such a fun little spot and it has a great sidewalk area to sit and enjoy those treats.
