The scenery was breathtaking!
The 'Tail of the Dragon' is 11 miles with 318 curves and is a popular motorcycle road. This picture doesn't do it justice, but the trail is very narrow and kind of scary at points.
At the end of the trail, we parked the car and walked around a bit to take some pictures.
Pete in front of the 'Tree of Shame' which is "a makeshift shrine to those bitten by the Dragon. After riders have successfully slayed the Dragon, they can smile at the parts left behind by other riders who were not so fortunate."
We grabbed some lunch at the 'Notorious Pig BBQ' with more pork sandwiches for the boys and a BBQ taco for me. So good!
Drew needing to add a mark to this ceiling. :)
"Anderson's 2014"
We then drove the Tail back and were on our way back to Tennessee and on to Nashville!
We stayed at a great hotel right in downtown Nashville called Hotel Indigo. We loved this hotel which was walking distance to everything we wanted to see in the downtown area and would definitely stay here again if ever in the area again.
'Batman building' (or the AT&T building) view from our window.
After unpacking at the hotel, we walked down to Broadway to take in the sights and hear some country music at some Honky Tonk bars. We stopped at Layla's first and then went over to Tootsie's Orchard Lounge.
I could have sat in there all night listening to music but there is 7pm curfew for those under 21 in the bars.
So we were off to find some dinner and ended up at BB Kings.
And listened to more live music! I love this city!
{More to come soon.}
