A College Tour and Hot Dogs

Monday morning (after our fabulous Sunday at Navy Pier) we woke up early at our hotel in Evanston, IL so we could do another college tour- this time at Northwestern University. Wow- what an amazing school and beautiful campus and only minutes away from Chicago!!!

After our visit at Northwestern University, we took a little detour on our way out of town to stop for some lunch. We stopped at Gene and Jude's in River Grove, IL. This is the ultimate hot dog dive! I have been going to this- um- restaurant since I was a wee little tike! I have a lot of relatives in the Chicago area and every time we come into town we make our way over to grab a hot dog!


This is most likely a place that you would never go into unless someone told you about it- but it is the best and is always busy and there is always a huge line wrapping through the building. They make a great hot dog and top it with onions, relish and the greasiest french fries- but no ketcup!!! (Don't even dare to ask for ketcup =0)


There is no where to eat inside so tradition is that you order the food~



and then you go sit in your car in the parking lot and eat!


My boys now love Gene and Jude's as much as I do and I am thinking this may be a reason Tyler wants to go to a college in the Chicago area =0) Kidding!
