weekend lens :: berries and baseball

Friday morning I headed out to the berry farm to pick some strawberries.

It was a beautiful, sunny morning!

I lost my favorite berry helper {Drew} this year due to his bad knees. :(

Only 9 pounds of berries this year.

We also had another baseball tournament this weekend. The third this month!

Drew's team played 4 games and lost all of them--but still somehow came in 5th place out of 24 teams. I don't get baseball!! :)

We had fun watching Drew with some great hitting,

base running,

and playing 2nd base for the entire 4 games.

We enjoyed a dinner out at Pizzeria Lola trying 2 different pizzas this time: the Sweet Italian and the Korean BBQ. Both very good!

We spent and afternoon at my parents house visiting with my cousin and her boyfriend who were in town for a wedding.

It was another fun and busy weekend.

weekend lens :: Father's Day

Father's Day weekend was a weekend filled with a baseball tournament for Drew's team, a hockey jamboree for Jake's high school team, amd some family time.

weekend lens {Memorial Day}

Memorial Day weekend had the perfect mixture of fun, relaxation, and family time; which is my favorite kind of weekend!

We had a great time at the Twins game on Friday evening. We were worried about the weather but it turned out to be just perfect!

Saturday brought rain showers.

Which made for the perfect day to cozy up in the house and read. {I finally bought this book and was so excited to dig into it. I saw the author, Kate Hopper at the MN Blog Conference last fall and she was fabulous! She teaches mother's "how to write the stories they need to tell".}

And time to snuggle up with the dog. :)

In between the heavy downpours of rain and the thunder and lightening, Jake helped a good friend of his who was working on his project for his Eagle Scout badge. They were planting a garden at their old elementary school. It is kind of neat because they have been friends since they were 3 years old, attending the same preschool. Boy time flies! {photos taken by Teri}

We enjoyed a trip out to our favorite Mexican restaurant.

Sunday we had a family BBQ at my parents house which always includes great company and good food! I brought a '7 Layer Salad'. The recipe is {here}. I haven't had this salad for years and years, and it totally brought me back to my childhood!

On Monday I finally got my garden planted!!

It was a great Memorial Day weekend!

Double Header

Okay, technically it was not a double header... and we went home, and slept between games... but it kind of felt like one; because this past weekend, we had tickets to 2 games to the MN Twins playing the NY Yankees.

The first game was Saturday evening with a game time of 6:10pm. We had 2 tickets to this game and Pete and I had a great time enjoying some baseball on a gorgeous summer evening. And the Twins winning made the evening all the better!

The second game was Sunday at 1:10pm and we were so excited that the whole family would be able to go.

It was a great weekend of baseball!!

Twin's baseball game

Friday evening we had the chance to go to a Minnesota Twins baseball game at the new Target Field with Drew's baseball team and families. After a rainy and cold day, the weather cleared just in time for the evening game and it turned out to be just a beautiful night for an outside baseball game.

Drew is on the far left- but the bummer was that from our view we could only see half his face... oh well, still pretty cool! :)

We all had so much fun and I cannot wait to go to another game soon!! Outside is definately the way to see a baseball game!
